$200,000 – $325,000+

A highly respected national law firm is seeking a Venture Capital Associate Attorney to join its Chicago office.

This opportunity is ideal for an attorney interested in representing emerging growth companies, venture capital funds, founders, investors, and private companies throughout the business lifecycle.

Ideal Background

• 3+ years of venture capital, emerging companies, private equity, or corporate transactional experience gained at a sophisticated law firm

• Experience representing emerging growth companies, startups, venture capital funds, founders, angel investors, and strategic investors

• Experience handling seed, Series A, Series B, and later-stage venture financings

• Experience drafting and negotiating stock purchase agreements, investor rights agreements, voting agreements, shareholders' agreements, SAFEs, convertible notes, and related financing documents

• Experience advising clients regarding entity formation, corporate governance, capitalization, equity incentive plans, and general corporate matters

• Experience with mergers & acquisitions, strategic transactions, and exits is preferred

• Strong drafting, negotiation, analytical, organizational, and communication skills

• Ability to independently manage sophisticated transactions while maintaining significant client interaction

• Excellent academic credentials

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school required

• Illinois bar admission required or ability to become admitted
