The LOA and Benefits Program Manager will manage a variety of benefits vendors, resolve escalated issues, manage and promote designated programs, update policies and procedures as needed ensuring that they are as efficient and understandable as possible, and identify areas for process improvement relying on technology to support the process. In addition, this person will assist the Director of Global Benefits in making a business case for any strategic plan design changes, lead the implementation of the approved changes, develop a change management strategy, create all stakeholder communications, and manage the vendors through the changes.

Primary Responsibilities

40% Leave of Absence (LOA) Program Management

  • Manage all Leave of Absence programs (STD, LTD, FMLA, ADA and Paid Parental Leave)

  • Resolve complex LOA cases, escalations, and manage third-party LOA vendor

  • Execute Advice to Pay process liaising with Payroll

  • Maintain a continuous state of process improvement on current LOA processes and procedures

40% (Non-Leave) Benefits Program Management

  • Manage other company-wide benefit programs including but not limited to Relocation, Scholarship, Service & Retirement Awards, and the Employee Assistance Program

  • Manage US benefit programs such as PTO and Health Advocacy

  • Manage the benefits vendors, provide oversight on administration, assist vendors in resolving employee escalations and issues, understand the market competitiveness of the programs, and recommend plan design changes when appropriate

  • Serve as subject matter expert on assigned benefit policies, plans, and programs

  • Create procedures for various benefit processes with a focus on process improvement

  • Manage legal compliance of benefit plans by working closely with key individuals both inside and outside of the company, filing necessary regulatory forms, and complying with communication requirements

  • Update and draft employee benefits communication, including all policies, Summary Plan Descriptions, legal Plan Documents, and employee-facing benefits information

20% Project Management

  • Manage a variety of benefit projects determined by the Director of Global Benefits

  • Assist with strategic plan design, gaining stakeholder input and approval, implementing approved changes, and executing a well-planned communication strategy

  • Assist with executing business initiatives by working with vendors and internal clients on change management

  • Assist with Benefits billing and budgeting activities related to your vendors

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution, preferably in HR/Benefits or other related field

  • 5+ years of benefits experience required with experience managing an outsourced LOA administration model and at least 3 years of project and vendor management

  • Exercises good judgment, focuses attention on details, and utilizes data analysis to make sound decisions

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, work under tight deadlines with a sense of urgency, and be extremely organized

  • Self-motivated and self-starter

  • Passion for learning, curious, and investigative mindset

  • High sense of accountability and reliability

  • Tenacity to solve complex problems with a variety of unique variables

  • Experienced in interpreting, updating, and analyzing technical procedures, plan documents, and governmental regulations affecting employee benefit programs

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite including word processing and spreadsheets. Also demonstrates proficiency in operating HRIS systems, vendor software, Internet, e-mail, and database software

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, and geographic location.

The salary for this role is $87,000 - $112,000.
