Our client, a world-leading Pharmaceutical Company in Groton, CT is currently looking for an Biospecimen Project Manager to join their expanding team.

Duration: 8 months contract, extendable up to 48 months

Job Description:
Project Manager
 
The Biosample Project Manager (Contractor) will provide operational and project management support for biospecimen order fulfillment activities within Clinical Genetics & Biospecimens (CGB). 
This role serves as a key point of contact between internal customers, laboratory teams, and external vendors to ensure the timely, compliant, and high-quality delivery of biospecimens for research and development projects.
The successful candidate will apply strong project management skills to coordinate biospecimen requests, manage priorities and timelines, communicate project status to stakeholders, and proactively resolve issues impacting order fulfillment. 
The role also supports local biospecimen shipping activities and maintains accurate documentation throughout the order lifecycle. 
This role may also support documentation and tracking of information associated with biospecimen transfers into the biorepository.
 
Key Responsibilities
Project Management and Order Coordination
Serve as the project manager for biospecimen orders from initiation through fulfillment.
Establish and maintain project timelines, milestones, and priorities for multiple concurrent biospecimen requests.
Proactively track deliverables, identify risks, and escalate issues as needed to ensure on-time execution.
Document project activities, decisions, issues, corrective actions, and resolutions to ensure transparency and traceability.

Customer and Vendor Management
Act as the primary point of contact for internal customers regarding biospecimen order status, requirements, and delivery timelines.
Coordinate closely with external biorepository vendors to ensure accurate and timely execution of biospecimen requests.
Assist with maintaining operational records and order-tracking tools.
Biospecimen Shipping Support
Coordinate and support shipment of biospecimens from local facilities in accordance with applicable procedures and shipping requirements.
Track shipments and address any logistics-related issues to minimize delays and maintain sample integrity.
 
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Biological Sciences, Clinical Research, Project Management, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in project management, biospecimen management, laboratory operations, clinical research, or biobanking.
Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects simultaneously with competing priorities.
Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience coordinating activities across multiple stakeholders and external vendors.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
 
Preferred Qualifications
perience working in a biobank, biorepository, clinical trial, or biospecimen management environment.
Familiarity with biospecimen collection, storage, shipment, and chain-of-custody processes.
Understanding of GxP, quality, regulatory, or compliance requirements applicable to biospecimen management.
Experience using project management and order-tracking systems.
