Summary
The Vehicle Processor supplies the vehicle processing facility with a continuous flow of vehicles, inspects them to quality standards, and processes vehicles for transport. The position also properly completes necessary documentation and uses computer terminals and handheld computerized scanning equipment when required.
Responsibilities
Inspect interior/exterior of vehicles to confirm proper operation
• Thoroughly inspect interior and exterior of vehicles as they exit the plant
• Monitor vehicle condition and record all malfunctioning or damaged items on work orders or survey documents
• Utilize a workstation computer to input and review all necessary vehicle processing information
• Keep accurate accounts of all vehicles and parts as they are processed and received
• Work with appropriate tools on or around the vehicles
• Read, understand, and follow workstation work instructions to perform required tasks
• Must adhere to customer's quality standards
• Drive vehicles to and from building or lots and in/out of car wash
• Removal of transportation hook from vehicles' bumpers
• Refueling vehicles according to customers' requirements
• Add minor accessories and booklets/stickers/labels according to customers' requirements
• Must be able to pass background check and TWIG card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential)
Safely and efficiently operate processed vehicles
• Drive vehicles to their appropriate stations, following a set schedule or route
• Place vehicles on/off a 2-post lifting device as needed
• Follow speed limit restrictions and drive in accordance with the Transportation & Handling Manual
• Adhere to all company and safety policies and procedures
• Drivers must have the stamina to sit, stand, or walk or several hours at a time, as well as excellent hand-eye coordination to operate vehicles while watching their surroundings to maximize safety
• Accurately complete driver check list for each vehicle with all required information
Customer service
• Communicate by telephone, two-way radio, and in-person in a courteous, friendly, and professional manner with all customers, guests, team members, etc.
• Responsible for inter-office communications, schedules and other documents.
