Vehicle Inventory Clerk - Outdoor

Pay: $18.00 per hour
Schedule: Full-Time - Must be available to work on the weekends

Help Keep Vehicle Inventory Accurate

Road & Rail Services is hiring a dependable and detail-oriented Vehicle Inventory Clerk to support vehicle operations at our railyard. This position is responsible for locating, scanning, and verifying newly delivered vehicles to ensure inventory records remain accurate and up to date.

This is an active, outdoor position performed in changing weather conditions. The ideal candidate is comfortable walking throughout a large vehicle lot, using handheld scanning equipment, and completing detailed work with minimal supervision. Previous inventory experience is helpful but not required. We provide training on our equipment, procedures, safety requirements, and inventory systems.

What You'll Do

As a Vehicle Inventory Clerk - Outdoor, you will:

Scan newly delivered vehicles into the inventory system

Locate vehicles throughout the railyard and storage areas

Review existing inventory for accuracy and completeness

Verify vehicle identification numbers and other required information

Identify and report missing vehicles, incorrect records, or other discrepancies

Use a handheld scanner to enter and update inventory information

Maintain organized and accurate records throughout the shift

Walk and work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, and other weather conditions

Follow all company, customer, and industry safety procedures

Communicate inventory concerns to supervisors and team members

Work independently while contributing to the overall team

Assist with additional operational duties as assigned

What We're Looking For

Qualified candidates should have:

A valid driver's license

A safety-first approach to all assigned work

Dependable attendance and punctuality

Strong attention to detail

The ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities

Basic comfort using handheld scanners or similar electronic devices

The ability to work outside during the entire scheduled shift

The ability to walk and stand for extended periods

A willingness to learn railyard procedures and inventory systems
