Chefs who focus on vegan cuisine often encounter unique challenges, such as sourcing high-quality, fresh plant-based ingredients year-round and developing creative, satisfying dishes that appeal to a broad clientele. Collaboration with suppliers, menu planners, and front-of-house staff is essential to maintain high standards and meet the growing demand for vegan options.

What does a vegan do?

A vegan is someone who avoids consuming or using animal products, including meat, dairy, eggs, and often honey. Vegans also typically avoid products made from animals, such as leather or wool, and choose alternatives that are plant-based or synthetic. The vegan lifestyle is motivated by concerns for animal welfare, environmental sustainability, and personal health. Veganism can influence dietary choices, shopping habits, and even personal care products.
