Chief Purpose of this position: Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center is seeking a BC/BE Cardiologist to participate in a one year clinical and scholarly program. The candidate will join an established group of physicians and surgeons in one of the top Heart Centers in the United States. We are dedicated to building a preeminent program for academic discovery and are committed to excellent clinical care for our patients.

Duties & Responsibilities

Position Responsibilities: The Advanced Imaging Scholar will train in Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Advanced Echocardiography (including structural echocardiography). The incumbent will be expected to contribute to study execution and interpretation in the magnetic resonance and echocardiography laboratories; and additional responsibilities will include activities in the clinic environment, and scholarly projects.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Board Certified/Board Eligible Cardiologist
  • Demonstrated skills in the areas cardiovascular medicine
  • Communicate effectively and work with a large multidisciplinary program
  • Clinically oriented and possess sufficient research and teaching experience to be eligible for academic appointment
  • Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU

Preferred Qualifications

  • Interest in noninvasive cardiovascular imaging and a desire to obtain advanced training in magnetic resonance and echocardiography
