Pauley Heart Mission Statement: At VCU Health Pauley Heart Center, our world‑class team takes your heart health personally. Building on our history of innovation in patient care, scientific discovery and collaboration we improve cardiovascular care for all, while continuously training the next generation of doctors.

Chief purpose of this position: To provide general Cardiology clinical care along with supporting the academic mission in research and education.

Duties & Responsibilities

Teaching: To support teaching directly via interactions with Medical Assistant trainees and undergraduate students from The College of William and Mary. In addition, will be expected to participate in University Continuing Medical Education programs for practicing physicians which is important to enhancing patient referrals.

Research: To support clinical research protocols as needed.

Service: Will be expected to participate in quality, safety and efficiency initiatives.

Clinical: Will primarily be dedicated to the imaging and outpatient and consultative services.

Other: Submit billing and document care as required by the organization. Abide by all medical staff requirements.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • BC/BE cardiologist with demonstrated skills in cardiovascular disease
  • Clinically oriented and possess sufficient research and teaching experience to be eligible for academic appointment
  • Communicate effectively and work with a large multidisciplinary program
  • Participate in teaching and Fellowship programsEligible for medical licensure in state of Virginia
  • Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU

Salary Range: Commensurate
