Primary Function:
This position is responsible for installing, testing, repairing, and removing emergency vehicle equipment, including but not limited to light bars, flashers, sirens, radios, speakers, antennas, stretchers and other emergency equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform remount and disassembly of emergency vehicle bodies from old chassis.
- Install emergency equipment into specialty vehicles.
- Mount and align vehicle modules onto new chassis with precision and accuracy.
- Reconnect, modify, or replace electrical wiring, lighting, control systems, and HVAC components.
- Remove and re-install OEM vehicle interior trim.
- Fabricate, repair, or modify brackets, panels, cabinetry, and hardware through soldering and drilling when needed.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve issues with equipment as needed.
- Maintain clean, safe and organized work areas while adhering to company and OSHA safety standards.
- Complete required paperwork and documentation accurately.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Applicants must have their own tools and a valid driverโs license
- Ability to repeatedly lift 50+lbs.
- Ability to read and follow work orders.
Experience:
High School Diploma or GED, automotive technical school a plus but not required.
