Role: Maintenance Engineer โ€“ Pharmaceutical Industry
Location: Indianapolis, IN

Overview

Seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to support equipment reliability and maintenance programs in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. Candidates must be open to contract-to-hire conversion based on performance and business needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead maintenance and reliability initiatives to improve equipment performance
  • Develop preventive, predictive, and risk-based maintenance strategies (FMEA, RCM)
  • Manage and optimize CMMS systems (SAP PM/MM preferred)
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions
  • Track and analyze maintenance KPIs and asset performance metrics
  • Support shutdown and turnaround maintenance activities
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean or Six Sigma methodologies
  • Ensure compliance with cGMP, safety, and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Production, and Quality

Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related field)
  • 8โ€“10+ years of experience in maintenance or reliability engineering
  • Experience in pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing preferred

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of FMEA, RCM, RCA, and preventive maintenance optimization
  • Experience with CMMS systems (SAP PM/MM preferred)
  • Strong data analysis skills, including advanced Excel (macros preferred)
  • Understanding of maintenance KPIs and industry best practices

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with pharmaceutical or chemical processing equipment
  • Knowledge of FDA regulations (cGMP, cGDP)
  • Relevant certifications (CMRP, CRL, AMP)
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma
  • Exposure to programming or scripting (Python, VBA, etc.)
