Job description

Position: Mechanical Engineer
Location: Carrollton, TX (Onsite)
Position type: W2 only
Only USC / GC
Must Have: Oil & Gas, SolidWorks, downhole tools, VAVE, API standards, Test fixture design and prototype testing
Engineer is assigned projects to design and validate tools to be used within Oil & Gas wells. Whether the end application is a Deepwater field development or a Carbon Capture, Utilization & Storage project, the customer requirements need to be clearly understood, the design of the tool must be completed according to our standards, validation testing performed following industry specifications and lessons learned need to be captured following the post-test inspection so that the tool may be released for production.
  • Identify requirements/functionality part of Project Charter
  • Design components and assemblies following design standards and perform all design/safety calculations
  • Collaborate with simulations team (FEA/CFD) to model the tool performance
  • Lead design reviews at the different stages of the project
  • Liaise with Project Manager to source prototype components in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with Testing department to assemble, validate for high-pressure, high-temperature testing, disassemble and inspect the equipment
  • Apply corrective actions and lessons learn for final production design
  • Be part of Oil and Gas (Client's) Design for Excellence program and various reliability programs

Work Experience
  • Working experience directly in oil and gas domain
  • Experience of Concept Design and Detail design of oil and gas tools
  • Experience in (VAVE) Value analysis and Value engineering of the designed product
  • Experience in organizing the meeting to conduct detailed Design reviews with all stakeholders.
  • Experience in Material selection for HPHT products
  • Experience in Detail Design of completion tools and Test fixtures, calculations applicable to designed tools
  • Experience in creating tool layouts and test layouts for the designed tools as per API.
  • Experience in compliancing the products per API 11D1, API 19OH standards.
  • Experience in root cause/corrective and preventative action
  • Experience in Assembly and Test procedure writing
  • Experience in Vendor management.
  • Experience in SolidWorks Modelling assembly, drafting, PLM and PDM.
  • 5+ years of working experience and understanding of ERP/MRP (SAP) systems and their use in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of GD&T per ASME Y14.5.

Qualification / Discipline
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
