A vascular interventional technologist uses specialized equipment to make images and assist in the performance of procedures on veins and arteries. You work with other members of the radiology team, including nurses and physicians. As a vascular interventional technologist, your duties focus on creating images using fluoroscopic equipment. Examples of diagnostic and treatment procedures on which you work include angioplasty, stenting, and thrombolysis. You can find employment in hospitals, specialized medical clinics, and outpatient clinics. In these positions, you have direct patient contact during imaging or the procedure.
