Varsity Head Coach Boys Ice Hockey

Kingswood Regional High School and Prospect Mountain High School

Job Overview

Kingswood Regional High School is seeking a professional, organized, and experienced Varsity Head Coach to lead our Boys Ice Hockey co-op program with Prospect Mountain. The Head Coach is responsible for the overall oversight, development, and administration of the entire hockey program. Additionally, the coach is expected to collaborate actively with local youth hockey programs to build a sustainable athletic pipeline.

Key Responsibilities

  • Student-Athlete Support: Develop and implement a structured plan/process to support student-athletes in maintaining academic success.
  • Technical Instruction: Possess and effectively demonstrate the knowledge required to teach both basic and advanced ice hockey techniques.
  • Program Administration: Plan, organize, and execute detailed schedules for practices, team events, and year-round training programs (focusing on strength, agility, and technical skills).
  • Effective Communication: Maintain strong, professional, and transparent communication with coaching staff, school administration, parents, student-athletes, athletic trainers, rink management, and the Athletic Director.
  • Health & Safety: Partner closely with the athletic training staff to prioritize and ensure the health, safety, and overall well-being of all student-athletes.
  • Community & Stakeholder Engagement: Coordinate and collaborate effectively with the Ice Hockey Booster Club and affiliated local organizations.
  • Compliance: Adhere to all policies and procedures set forth by the NHIAA, NFHS, and the Governor Wentworth Regional School District (GWRSD).

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of successful ice hockey coaching experience at the high school level is required.
  • Background: Competitive playing experience at the collegiate level is highly preferred.
