Job Summary:

The Data Processing Specialist - Mailing & Variable Data is responsible for receiving, validating, transforming, and preparing incoming customer data for use in high-volume direct mail and card production. This role ensures that all data meets postal regulations, customer specifications, and production requirements prior to release to manufacturing. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receive, review, and process incoming customer data files for direct mail and variable data production.
  • Interpret customer specifications, job tickets, and production capabilities to ensure accurate data setup.
  • Format, normalize, and integrate customer-supplied data into approved mailing-ready formats.
  • Perform address hygiene, merge/purge, deduplication, postal presort, and file creation.
  • Prepare and review data proofs, address samples, and variable data layouts for approval.
  • Collaborate with production and customer service teams to resolve data issues.


Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent; technical degree preferred
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in the printing or direct mail industry
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Windows operating systems
  • Experience with mailing software such as BCC, Satori, Quadient, Window Book, or Pitney Bowes preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.Effective analytical thinking, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Effective time-management skills; dependable and able to work productively with minimal supervision
