Job Title: RN – Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
Location: Hermitage, TN
Start Date: August 11, 2025
Job Type: Travel Contract
Shift: 3×12 Nights
Pay: $2,176.20/week


Position Overview

ATC Healthcare is seeking an experienced Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) for a travel assignment in Hermitage, TN. This position offers competitive weekly pay, completion bonuses, and comprehensive benefits. The PCU nurse will provide high-quality care to patients requiring close cardiac and hemodynamic monitoring, bridging the gap between the ICU and medical-surgical floors.


Responsibilities
  • Deliver direct patient care in a Progressive Care/Step-Down setting.

  • Monitor and manage patients on cardiac drips, insulin drips, and heparin drips.

  • Operate and maintain specialized equipment such as Bipaps, high-flow oxygen, Vapotherm, and wound vacs.

  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe and effective patient care.

  • Perform EKG rhythm interpretation and respond promptly to changes in patient condition.

  • Provide education and support to patients and families regarding treatment plans and recovery.

  • Document patient care accurately according to hospital policies and procedures.


Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee or compact state eligibility.

  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.

  • Minimum 1 year of recent PCU or Step-Down nursing experience (travel experience preferred).

  • Strong critical thinking and clinical assessment skills.

  • Proficiency in cardiac, insulin, and heparin drip management.

  • Competency in EKG rhythm interpretation, peripheral IV skills, and tube feeding management.

  • Experience with Bipaps, high-flow O, stroke, and post-cardiac cath care preferred.

  • Peritoneal dialysis experience a plus.
