Graduate Assistant - STUNT Assistant Coach
Department of Intercollegiate Athletics
Northwest Nazarene University (NNU) Athletic Department competes at the NCAA Division II level. NNU is a member of the PacWest Conference which includes: Fresno Pacific University, Concordia University Irvine, Vanguard University, Hawaii Pacific University, William Jessup University.
Description of Position
This position is a part-time, graduate assistant position and will report to the Head STUNT Coach.
Essential Functions
  • Prepares, plans, conducts, and evaluates practice sessions, as directed by Head Coach.
  • Teaches individuals and groups of student-athletes specific tasks and skills before, during and after practice, during season and off-season.
  • Follow all NCAA and Northwest Nazarene University's recruiting policies.
  • Oversee portion of study hall.
  • Plans long and short-term team objectives under the leadership of the Head Coach.
  • Participates in recruiting efforts with the Office of Admissions, Academic Services, Compliance and others within your PSAs under the supervision of the program's recruiting coordinator.
  • Assists in the formulation of team and department fundraising activities and promotional events.
  • Administers day to day operations as directed by the Head Coach.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Acceptance into NNU's Graduate School
  • Sufficient skills, knowledge and training to perform the essential function of the position
  • The University requires that all candidates be Christians, and must be comfortable with and in
  • agreement with the mission and lifestyle values of NNU.
  • High motivation and commitment to the University, including the ability to self-start, be calm under
  • pressure, meet deadlines, work without direct supervision, be able to multi-task, problem-solve, and
  • relate to a variety of personalities under diverse circumstances
  • Ability to obtain and maintain current First Aid and CPR card
  • Ability to obtain NNU driving certification

Compensation
Full-time graduate school tuition and a $3,000 per year stipend.
