HKA is looking for Pipefitters in Newport News, VA!

Job Title: Pipefitter

Location: Newport News, VA

Wages:

- $35.00/Hr

- $120.00/day Per Diem offered, if eligible

*Travel Assistance Available*

Shift:

- Must be able to work any shift (1st, 2nd, or 3rd)

Duties:

- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately assemble piping systems

- Fit, assemble, and install pipes using hand tools, power tools, pipe threading machines, calipers, and tube bending equipment

- Conduct pipe threading, soldering, and assembly of plumbing and HVAC systems according to ASME codes & standards

- Rigging pipes and components for installation or maintenance on ships or maritime facilities

- Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot issues with pipelines and perform routine maintenance or repairs

- Adhere to safety protocols while working on construction sites or manufacturing environments

Requirements:

- Minimum 4 Yrs. shipyard trade experience

- Basic math, reading and comprehension skills

- Knowledge of the layout, fit-up, fabrication and installation of pipe, flanges and valves

- Read and interpret trade drawings and/or blueprints utilizing both metric and standard measurements

- Must be able to pass background check and hair follicle drug screen
