Hand Assembler Jobs in Virginia (NOW HIRING)

The Assembler builds units by following detailed instructions and dimensional drawings while working safely and accurately across multiple workstations. This role uses a variety of hand and power tools to assemble casings, frames, A-coils, and sub-assemblies, ensuring all components meet quality standards in a high-volume production environment.

• Read and interpret dimensional drawings and blueprints to assemble units correctly.
• Follow instructions from the group leader to complete assigned tasks accurately and on time.
• Use hand and power tools such as impact guns, pliers, and wrenches to assemble parts safely.
• Assemble casings, frames, A-coils, and related components according to specifications.
• Route wiring and connect sub-assemblies to complete units as required.
• Rotate between different workstations to support production needs and maintain workflow.
• Identify, tag, and report defective parts or materials to the appropriate personnel.
• Record completed tasks and production information accurately for tracking and quality purposes.
• Follow all safety procedures and use assigned personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Support a team-oriented environment by communicating effectively and assisting coworkers as needed.

• Experience with assembly work in a production or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and follow dimensional drawings and blueprints.
• Proficiency using hand tools such as pliers and wrenches.
• Proficiency using power tools such as impact guns and other powered equipment.
• Ability to work on an assembly line and rotate between multiple workstations.
• Capability to perform repetitive lifting of up to 50 lbs.
• Willingness to be flexible and adaptable to change in tasks and priorities.
• Strong team orientation and ability to work collaboratively with others.
• Demonstrated initiative to learn new tasks, tools, and processes.
• Excellent attendance record and a positive, reliable attitude.
• Consistent use of all assigned PPE and adherence to safety guidelines.

• Experience with general labor in a manufacturing or large plant environment.
• Ability to use a tape measure accurately for dimensional checks.
• Familiarity with brazing and welding processes is a plus.
• Comfort working with production metrics and task recording.
• Ability to maintain focus and quality while performing repetitive tasks.
• Strong attention to detail when identifying defects and verifying completed work.

This role is based in a large, non–temperature-controlled plant environment where production runs across multiple shifts. Available schedules include weekend shifts (A-Shift: 6:00 a.m.–6:30 p.m. Friday–Sunday; B-Shift: 6:00 p.m.–6:30 a.m. Thursday–Saturday) and a third shift (11:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m. Sunday–Thursday). Assemblers stand and walk for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs (non-repetitive), and stoop as needed to complete tasks. The work involves regular use of hand tools, power tools, and assembly line equipment, and requires consistent use of assigned PPE in a busy, fast-paced production setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lexington, VA.

The pay range for this position is $24.23 - $25.73/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
