A career within Delivering Deal Value (DDV) will provide you with the opportunity to help clients achieve maximum value on their deal transactions by solving transformational and other complex challenges. We focus on all operational aspects of a transaction - pre- and post-close - including pre-deal and functional due diligence, enterprise-wide integrations, and complex divestitures, carve-outs and separations. Our work spans across a wide range of functional and cross-functional areas, within diverse sectors and industries.
As a DDV Director, you will lead a dynamic team of problem solvers dedicated to helping clients navigate complex business challenges - from strategy through execution. You will play a central role in collaborating with our clients, driving value across the full deal lifecycle, partnering with other competencies with PwC's Deals line of business in order to serve clients in delivering measurable results in high-stakes transactions.

The Opportunity:

Our teamassistsCorporate,Private EquityandPension Fundclients in their acquisition, integration, and divestiture activity.This team supports clients in all operational aspects of a deal, pre- and post-completion, including:

  • Buy- and sell-sidefunctionaldue diligence(i.e.Operations,HR, Tech, Cyber, etc.)

  • Post-acquisition integrationplanning and execution

  • Carve-out and separation planning and execution, including standalone cost analysis

  • Synergyidentification, planning,trackingand execution

Your responsibilities as aDirectorwill include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee multipleprojectsat variousstages of atransaction and acrossend-to-endvalue creation programs

  • Set the overall strategy andprovideframeworksfor delivery teams to execute on project mandates

  • Leverage experience andexpertiseacross complex deal structures to define scope, outlineapproachand prioritize effort across value creation mandates

  • Managesenior-levelproject sponsors and key client stakeholders

  • Develop senior-level stakeholder relationships to enable account managementinsight and actions

  • Bringexistingdeepindustry experiencetoour client and continuing to evolve sectorexpertise

  • Provide subject-matter guidance and directionto delivery teamsandfacilitateaccess tosector/functionalexpertiseand best practices within the firm

  • Act as leaderforissue escalation,risk management,decisionmakingand quality control in support of delivery teams

  • Leadaccount planning,business developmentin the marketand pursuit activitiesanddemonstrateaccountability for and ownership of revenue generating activities

  • Build a book of business by actively selling new mandates, identifying add-on work on existing engagements, and recurring revenues and repeat business opportunities

  • Contribute to firmthought-leadershipbased onexpertiseand experience; develop innovative approaches and methodologies

  • Provideleadership guidance to delivery team leads on budget management,resourcingand billing activities

  • Support DDV leadership with firm-building activities,i.e.talent development, performance management, etc.

  • Coach and develop team members - aligned with PwC'svalues - to help them grow and thrive in their roles and to evolve as professionals within the firm

As part of the transaction process, the DDV team develops a rapid understanding of the target or client businessin order toquickly assimilate the key operational issues, synergies, risks, and value-creation opportunities surrounding each transaction.

We are looking for a candidate whobringsthe following experience and capabilities:

  • A track recordof developing a business vision and leading complex projects while functioning as a trusted advisor at the highest levels of client organizations

  • Experience in a leading management consulting firm demonstrating extensive knowledge of mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures - including pre-dealfunctionaldue diligence, integration planning, separation planning,standalone costing,synergyand cost savings

  • Proven experience leading large, complex programs (e.g., global, multi-functional engagements) with the ability to influence multiple senior-level stakeholders

  • Extensive, hands-on experience with one or more of the following functional areas:HR, IT, Finance, Operations and Sales and Marketing

  • Extensive experienceand deepexpertiseinone or more industry sectors including Financial Services, Telecom, Consumer Products, Energy, Industrials and Infrastructure

  • Experience leading anddevelopingstrategic client relationships while consistently delivering the highest quality work across multiple concurrent client projects

  • Strong capability incommunicatingboth quantitative and qualitative analyses of complex data combined with exceptional critical thinking skills to supportrecommendation anddecision-making

  • Experience taking a lead role in business development and pursuit activities, both internally with client pursuit teams and externally through client-facing meetings and proposal discussions

  • Proven ability toleadfullcycle of project management responsibilities and to lead teams through complex engagements, includingleadingmultiple engagements simultaneously

  • Adrive toembraceAIto bring innovation,efficiencyand differentiation to our clientsalong with a desire to continuouslyupskill for a digital world, with an openness to learning new tools and adapting how you work

  • A demonstrated commitment to valuing differences, developing and coaching diverse teams, and ensuring that diverse perspectives are heard and integrated

The salary range for this position is $175,000 - $225,000. The posted salary range represents the expected hiring range for PwC locations in major city centres. Given our national recruiting approach, ranges may vary for positions in other locations. At PwC Canada, base salary is determined by your skills, experience, qualifications and work location. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may have opportunities to participate in variable incentive pay programs which are designed to reward individual and firm-wide achievements. We are committed to offering competitive compensation and adhere to all relevant pay transparency legislation.
