Job Requirements

Under limited supervision, supports and advances system wide clinical value analysis initiatives across the system. Partners with clinical and supply chain stakeholders to evaluate clinical products and services, promote evidence based decision making, drive product standardization, and support cost optimization while maintaining quality and patient safety.


The following statements describe the general nature and level of work performed by individuals in this position. They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties.


Primary Responsibilities


* Coordinate a standardized system wide process for reviewing and evaluating clinical product requests.

* Facilitate and support clinically led Clinical Quality Value Analysis (CQVA) committee meetings, including agenda development, meeting materials, documentation, and follow up tracking.

* Track request metrics, approvals, cost savings, and implementation outcomes using the designated Value Analysis Management platform and other approved productivity tools.

* Educate clinicians and stakeholders on the request submission process and CQVA procedures while developing business cases that clearly communicate clinical value, financial impact, operational feasibility, and implementation risks.

* Serve as a liaison between clinicians, hospital leadership, Supply Chain, vendors, suppliers, and group purchasing organizations.

* Provide subject matter expertise for clinical product evaluations, trials, and implementation activities to ensure quality, patient safety, and clinical acceptance.

* Lead communication and change management efforts related to product conversions and standardization initiatives.

* Manage discontinued item processes by identifying suitable alternatives and coordinating hospital validation activities.

* Review non catalog and non contracted purchases to identify opportunities for consolidation, standardization, and cost savings.

* Identify and document contract compliance gaps and escalate unresolved issues through the appropriate governance structure.

* Partner with Directors of Materials Management and Supply Chain to identify product alternatives for discontinued items and back ordered products while coordinating validation across hospitals.

* Coordinate vendor engagement, product samples, clinical education, and in service support activities.

Experience and Skills

* Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.

* Ability to independently maintain accurate and timely information within the approved Value Analysis Management platform, serving as the primary system of record while adapting to new tools, templates, and technologies.

* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret clinical, operational, and financial data.

* Demonstrated ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholder groups and influence decision making.

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills with both clinical and nonclinical audiences.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other productivity tools used throughout UMMS.

* Ability to understand and communicate financial drivers, cost structures, and operational impacts related to clinical product decisions.

* Ability to travel up to 40 percent as required.


Education and Experience


* Associate's degree in Nursing or a related field required.

* Three years of critical care or trauma nursing experience required.

**OR**

* Five years of medical surgical nursing, other clinical nursing, consulting, value analysis, or equivalent clinical experience.
