Job description

Valley Health Systems, Inc., the parent company of Holyoke Medical Center and Holyoke Medical Group, is proud to offer a comprehensive range of healthcare services throughout Western Massachusetts. Our services include adult primary care, family medicine, pediatrics, and walk-in care-all provided by a team of skilled physicians in convenient office locations.
We are currently seeking an experienced Office Assistant for our Primary Care Physician Practice. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing all administrative functions of the office.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide administrative support to physicians/providers.
  • Greet and assist patients with check-in and check-out procedures.
  • Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information.
  • Collect co-pays, encounter forms, and any other appropriate fees.
  • Schedule follow-up appointments as needed.
  • Accurately input outpatient orders into the Medical Center's Order Entry System.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience working with third-party payers.
  • Working knowledge of ICD-10 and HCPC coding preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a physician's office or a similar healthcare environment preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
