Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations, crisis interventions, and assessments to determine patient needs and develop tailored treatment plans.
  • Utilize evidence-based practices to guide therapy sessions, aiming for measurable progress in patients' mental health conditions.
  • Coordinate care by collaborating with other healthcare professionals and agencies, including the Department of Correction, ensuring seamless transitions and effective patient support.
  • Facilitate group therapy sessions for patients in mental health observation units, providing a safe space for shared experiences and support.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient interactions, treatment plans, and statistical reports to fulfill regulatory requirements and enhance quality of care.
  • Engage in weekly clinical supervision with your Clinical Supervisor, promoting continuous professional growth and insight into best practices in mental health counseling.
  • Participate actively in case conferences and treatment planning meetings, contributing valuable input regarding patient progress and potential adjustments to care strategies.
  • Stay updated with developments in mental health practices, potentially conducting psychological testing as needed.
  • Support the next generation of mental health professionals by supervising social work interns or student volunteers.
