Position Overview

Valiant Mind Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team in a full-time, fully remote role. This position is integral to providing high-quality mental health support to our patients, ensuring continuity and coordination of care. You will work closely with patients and their families to navigate the complexities of mental health challenges and help them achieve optimal health outcomes.

Work Environment

This is a fully remote position within an outpatient facility framework, allowing for a flexible work schedule designed to support work-life balance. Our counseling team collaborates regularly through virtual meetings and case discussions to ensure that all staff members feel supported and engaged. You will have the flexibility to choose your working hours while maintaining consistency in your availability for clients. While your primary role will be remote, you may occasionally engage in in-person meetings or team-building events.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations to assess patients’ psychological, emotional, and social needs.
  • Provide crisis intervention and follow-up care to ensure clients are receiving appropriate support and resources.
  • Coordinate patient care by determining the most suitable level of care and managing the patient disposition effectively.
  • Collaborate with various departments, including the Department of Corrections, to facilitate effective patient treatment plans.
  • Lead and facilitate group therapy sessions for mental health observation units, enhancing peer support and engagement.
  • Complete thorough documentation, including evaluation reports and statistical records, to ensure compliance with professional standards and regulations.
  • Participate in weekly clinical supervision sessions with a Clinical Supervisor to foster professional development and continuous learning.
  • Engage in case conferences and treatment planning meetings to collaboratively decide on methodologies and interventions for patients.
  • May have the opportunity to conduct psychological testing as assigned, adding further depth to patient assessments.
  • Provide supervision and guidance to interns or volunteers when applicable, contributing to the development of future mental health professionals.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with diverse patients presenting a range of mental health disorders. This includes individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma-related symptoms, and complex psychological challenges. Valiant Mind Counseling Center serves a broad demographic, ensuring that cultural, social, and economic factors are considered in treatment plans.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Mental Health Counseling is required.
  • Must possess or be eligible to obtain a valid state license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience in providing mental health counseling in an outpatient or remote setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations and understand culturally relevant practices.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and teletherapy platforms is preferred.
