Job description

Entry-Level Sales, Service & Operations Roles
Full-Time | $16.00 to $21.00 per hour | No Experience Required | Multiple Roles, One Application
Most people who build a career at Walser did not arrive knowing anything about cars. They arrived knowing how to show up, treat people well, and figure things out. We handled the rest, and we still do.
This is a single application that puts you in front of hiring managers across our North Metro locations. It covers both sides of the store, sales and service, so you only fill it out once no matter which direction you are leaning.
Where You Would Work
  • Walser Brooklyn Park - Hyundai
  • Walser Coon Rapids - Hyundai and Nissan

Roles We're Filling Now
Sales Side
  • Sales Assistant
  • Sales Valet
  • Vehicle Photographer

Service Side
  • Lube Tech
  • Service Runner

Vehicle and Store Operations
  • Porter
  • Lot Tech
  • Detailer
  • Front Desk Coordinator

Not sure which side fits?
That is genuinely fine, and it is the reason this is one application instead of ten. Tell us how you like to spend a workday and our team will point you toward the roles worth talking about.
Schedule and Pay
Your pay: $16.00 to $21.00 per hour, based on the role and what you bring to it. We are upfront about pay from the first conversation, and we will be straight with you about what year one realistically looks like before you accept anything.
Your schedule: Full-time, with schedules that vary by role and store. Evenings and Saturdays are part of the rotation, as that is when many of our customers need us.
Training and Development
Everything technical about these roles is something we teach. You will get structured onboarding, a manager who is accountable for your development, and clear benchmarks for what a promotion actually requires, so you are never guessing what comes next.
Walser Promotes From Within
Moving between the sales and service sides is normal, not a restart. Plenty of people try one, find out they prefer the other, and keep climbing.
What You'll Do
Day-to-day depends on which side you land on, but the work generally looks like this:
  • Support the sales team with paperwork, follow-up, and keeping deals moving
  • Stage and deliver vehicles, and shoot the inventory photos customers shop from
  • Greet and take care of customers in the service lane
  • Perform basic maintenance including oil changes, fluid checks, and tire rotations (Lube Tech)
  • Shuttle customers and move vehicles between locations and vendors
  • Move, stage, and prepare vehicles for service, delivery, or photography
  • Detail vehicles and keep the lot organized and presentable
  • Answer phones, greet walk-ins, and route people to the right person
  • Uphold Walser's Core Values: Do The Right Thing, Lead By Example, Display Positive Energy, Be Open Minded

Who We're Looking For
Many of our strongest team members joined us from restaurants, retail, hospitality, call centers, and the trades. These are roles where you learn to read a person quickly, stay composed when things go sideways, and follow through on what you promised. Those qualities are difficult to teach, and they matter most here.
Not required: dealership experience, automotive knowledge, a technical background, or a college degree.
Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
Our customers speak Spanish, Hmong, Somali, and other languages, and someone who can meet a guest in their own language makes a meaningful difference in that guest's experience. It is not required, but it is valued on this team.
What You Bring
  • A drive to learn. Curiosity and coachability are the core requirements
  • Reliability. You show up on time and pick up the slack without being asked
  • Strong communication skills, and genuine care for the customer experience
  • Comfort working on your feet, indoors and outdoors, in Minnesota weather
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record (most roles)
  • Must be 18 or older and able to pass a standard background check

What's In It For You
  • Health Benefits - medical, dental, and vision through Blue Cross Blue Shield, plus HSA and FSA access and company-paid life insurance
  • 401(k) with Employer Match - plus Paid Time Off and an Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Career Growth - we promote from within, with defined career paths, mentorship, and managers invested in your next role
  • Fertility and Adoption Assistance - up to $10,000 toward treatment and adoption expenses
  • Paid Clothing Program - branded Walser apparel twice a year, on us
  • Employee Discounts - exclusive pricing across products and services, plus referral bonuses
  • Employee Resource Groups - Women of Walser, Drive with Pride, Asian Hmong Alliance, and Veterans at Walser
  • Community Involvement - volunteer through the Walser Foundation and support causes across the communities we serve

A Note on the Work
This is a service drive and a sales floor. You will be on your feet, indoors and outdoors, in Minnesota weather, and some days move quickly. If that sounds like your kind of day, we encourage you to apply.
Apply once. We will help you find the right fit.
