Retail Pharmacy / Community Healthcare Clinic

Position Summary

The Immunizing Nurse Float will administer a wide range of vaccines in a CVS retail pharmacy while delivering safe, efficient, and compassionate patient care. This role requires excellent clinical judgment, strong communication skills, and flexibility to support vaccination initiatives across assigned locations as needed.

PPE and all required clinical supplies are provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer vaccines including:
    • Influenza (Flu)
    • COVID-19  
    • MMR
    • Hepatitis A & B
    • Tdap  
    • Shingles  
    • RSV
    • Pneumococcal  
    • Other CDC-recommended immunizations
  • Assess patients before immunization.
  • Administer medications following established clinical protocols.
  • Monitor patients for adverse reactions after vaccination.
  • Educate patients regarding vaccine benefits, risks, and post-vaccination care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in electronic medical records.
  • Follow infection prevention and PPE guidelines.
  • Collaborate with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service in a retail healthcare environment.
  • Adapt to changing workflows and support additional clinic locations when needed.  

Minimum Qualifications

  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
  • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience, including immunization and direct patient care.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Comfortable administering vaccines throughout the workday.
  • Ability to work independently in a patient-facing retail setting.
  • Flexible to work weekends, holidays, and varying schedules.
