Position Overview:
The professional nurse in critical care uses the nursing process to plan, implement, evaluate and document patient care. The professional nurse considers the patient's physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, language barriers, age, teaching needs, and readiness to learn. The professional nurse involves the interdisciplinary team in the plan of care and patient intervention. The RN I independently cares for two (2) critically ill patients; assesses and cares for patients on a ventilator and understands alarms and parameters of the patients. The RN I understands basic dysrhythmias and the hemodynamic status of the patient, assists with bedside procedures, and administers medications prescribed by the physician according to policy. The RN I functions in a mentoring relationship with an RN II or RN III in developing autonomous nursing practice.
Hours: 1900-0730
Shift: Nights
Job type: Full Time
Schedule: 6 shifts per two week pay period. Some weekends required.
