JOB TITLE: Convenience Store Clerk
DEPARTMENT: Operations
REPORTS TO: Convenience Store Manager, Assistant Manager

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Always provide efficient and courteous service to customers.
  • Assist in food service production, in preparing sandwiches, submarine sandwiches, doughnuts,
  • and other food service items.
  • Follow company food safety program.
  • Scan and ring customer orders according to company policy.
  • Receive and be accountable for all funds taken for each transaction.
  • Keep workstation, convenience store, and all areas clean.
  • Know and follow all state and local laws regarding cigarette/tobacco sales.
  • Know and follow all state and local laws regarding alcohol sales.
  • Know and follow all federal laws regarding food stamps.
  • Know and follow all coupon handling procedures.
  • Follow company check cashing and tendering policies.
  • Follow company policy regarding Lottery and Lotto sales.
  • Follow company policy regarding the sale of money orders.

ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Assist with stocking and ordering of store products (candy, cigarettes, chips, motor oil, drink
  • Assist with stocking of store (candy, cigarettes, chips, snacks, motor oil, drink coolers, etc.).
  • Assist in authorized store transfers and receiving of product, as directed by the store
  • manager(s).
  • Sweep and mop work area.
  • Cleaning the concrete area around the pumps of the fuel station daily with approved methods.
  • Replace misplaced items to the proper location.
  • Collect trash as needed.
  • Keep paper towels and windshield wiper fluid stocked at pumps.
  • Maintain a clean and supplied public restroom area.
  • Keep pumps clean.
  • Brew coffee as needed throughout the day.
  • Clean food service equipment as needed and every night (coffee urns, fountain drink machines,
  • milkshake machines).
  • Stock food service supplies and store supplies as needed (fountain drink cups, straws, coffee cups).
  • Assist in keeping food service area sanitize and stocked.
  • Accountable for security of all safe combinations, keys, and numbers always entrusted to you.
  • Perform Computer Room duties, as needed, including app reporting and balancing of register
  • tills.
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed.
