JOB SUMMARY

Serves as person in charge during night shift.  Compiles and balances all cashier transactions of the day.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for recording all hotel cashier transactions i.e. room and food and beverage audits; reviewing, organizing and compiling management reports and ensuring the accuracy of guest billings and general ledger transactions.
  • Greet and register guests as necessary.
  • Responsible for supervisory duties in the absence of the Front Office Supervisor.
  • Perform normal duties as front desk clerk when not acting as night auditor.  (see job description for front desk clerk).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Assist guest with purchase from the Gift Shop and compute and collect payment in Micros.
  • Keep Gift Shop stock with merchandise.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret common documentation.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from employees, regulatory agencies or members of the staff.
  • Ability to write and present information to management in a reasonable manner.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions and deal with several variables.
  • Excellent math and communication skills.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent; Knowledge or training in accounting; Prior experience necessary.
