About the Role

Under the leadership of the Senior Manager, UX Design & Content Strategy, theย Juniorย User Experience Designer will help design and improve products and services for internal and external clients.ย You'llย work alongside experienced UX designers who will provide coaching, feedback, and opportunities to develop your interaction design, and facilitation skills.ย In this position,ย you will collaborate withย a variety of stakeholders includingย product managers, business analysts, tax analysts, developers, quality assurance analysts, translators,ย and content writers.ย ย 

Key Areas of Responsibility:ย 

  • Createย wireflows, UI components, and annotated design handoffs for development.ย ย 
  • Participate in design reviews and usability testing.ย 
  • Contribute to andย maintainย the design system.ย 
  • Partner with senior designers, product managers, and developers to solve user problems.ย 
  • Use user insights and analytics to inform design decisions.ย 
  • Ability toย operateย in a fast-paced, interactive,ย agile environment.ย 
  • Communicate design decisions with clear rationale and incorporate feedback from stakeholders and teammates.ย 
  • Work collaboratively and build relationships with our local and remote cross-functional teamย involved in the software development process.ย

Required Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in User Experienceย and/orย Human Computer Interaction (HCI),ย andย have an appreciation for the UX Design process.ย 
  • Haveย 2-4ย yearsย ofย experience in userย interfaceย design, product design, or related design work.ย 
  • A portfolioย demonstratingย your UX design process and visual design skills. We are particularly interested in seeing:ย 
  • Well-organized and clearly labelled UI components drawn from a design system orย componentย library.ย 
  • Wireflowsย or user flows thatย documentย how users move through a workflow or complete a task.ย 
  • We value evidence of problem solving over polished visuals. Show us how you understood the problem, explored solutions, collaborated with stakeholders, and arrived at a recommendation.ย 
  • An understanding of user-centered design principles and agile development.ย 
  • Great communicationย skills, written and verbal. You speak up, ask questions, andย areย coachable.ย You'reย eager to improve your UX / UI skills.ย 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of responsive design, visual design, typography,ย colour, and layout.ย 
  • Fluency in Englishย isย requiredย and fluency inย Frenchย is considered anย asset.
  • Tools andย Technologyย Expectations:ย 
    • Figma (required)ย 
    • Familiarity with design systems andย componentย librariesย 
    • Basic understanding of HTML/CSS (nice to have)ย 
    • Some experience collaborating with developers
