Job description

Make a difference supporting students and staff as a Social Worker for an in-person contract role in the Rochester, NY area. This assignment runs for the 2026-2027 school year, with opportunities to extend pending internal hiring. Two Social Workers are needed to collaborate closely with a diverse school community beginning September 8, 2026. Exact caseloads and schedules will be finalized at the end of August to ensure the best fit for both candidate and campus needs.

Successful candidates will be passionate advocates for student wellbeing and possess the credentials needed to make an immediate impact.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • New York State certification as a School Social Worker (SSW)
  • Active LMSW or LCSW license in New York
  • Previous experience providing social work services in school settings preferred
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong skills in counseling, assessment, and crisis intervention
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation abilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct social work services and counseling to students facing a range of social, emotional, or behavioral challenges
  • Collaborate with educators, families, and administrators to develop student support plans
  • Participate in assessments, interventions, and IEP meetings as part of a comprehensive support system
  • Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all state and district requirements
  • Contribute to an inclusive, safe, and respectful school culture
