About this Job
Jefferson Parish Human Services Authority (JPHSA) is a Local Governing Entity created by the Louisiana Legislature in 1989. JPHSA is responsible for the management and operation of behavioral health and developmental disability services in Jefferson Parish. JPHSA provides fully integrated primary and behavioral healthcare services through its JeffCare program
The Jefferson Parish Human Services Authority (JPHSA) Behavioral Health Community Services (BHCS) division provides a continuum of community-based behavioral health and support programs to assist individuals in their recovery from mental illness and/or addictive disorders. Functional Family Therapy (FFT and FFT-CW) (includes Child Welfare adaptation), Multisystemic Therapy (MST), and/or Community Psychiatric Support & Treatment (CPST) are evidence-based and/or best practice therapy programs that provide services to youth and their families and adults in the Jefferson Parish adult justice system, juvenile justice system, child welfare system, or a combination of various systems, are at risk for out-of-home placement or further involvement in the system, and/or are at risk for dual involvement in multiple systems. The Social Worker provides therapy services to clients presenting to the Behavioral Health Community Services Division of Jefferson Parish Human Services Authority (JPHSA).
Minimum Qualifications
Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice as a Licensed Master's Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Certified Social Worker (CSW) plus:
A master's degree in social work.
NOTE:
Permanent status will not be granted in this job title without LMSW or LCSW licensure in Louisiana; Certified Social Worker (CSW) credential will not be accepted for granting permanent status.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
  • Maintain at a minimum 37.5% productivity standard of billable service time
  • Completes comprehensive assessments and service plans using appropriate diagnostic interviews and model techniques. Service plans include problems, goals, and objectives of the individual, as well as, type, frequency and duration of service to be provided. Service plans are signed by the individual served and the guardian if the service recipient is a minor
  • Provides therapeutic services to client consistent with the therapy model. The preferred location for intervention is the home of the client; however, other locations may be suitable provided that adequate controls are in place to protect confidentiality
  • Provides therapeutic interventions to the individuals served and families in the community, and outside of the typical 9-5 hour workday, as consistent involvement from family members is essential to the models. Consequently, flexibility to conduct after-hours appointments is a necessity for this position
  • Conducts sessions consistent with the model
  • Maintains compliance with ethical standards and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations regarding confidentiality, as defined by licensure, law and JPHSA policy
  • Travels to homes and/or other locations in the community to provide services in a fashion consistent with the model. May transport individuals served in agency vehicles. Maintains compliance with JPHSA's Driver Safety Program Policy; incumbent must have a current driver's license, proof of insurance, and a clean driving record. Individuals served cannot be transported in the incumbent's personal vehicle.

Career Progression: This position participates in a Career Progression Group and can be filled as a Social Worker 1, 2, 3, or 4.
Work Schedule: Flexible work hours that may be outside of the traditional 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday-Friday, dependent on job duties.
Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
