Job description

Classification: New Service Representative Work Hours: 40+ hours / week: M - F About KUB: KUB is one of the largest public utilities in the country providing safe, reliable, and affordable electric, gas, water, wastewater, and fiber services to more than 520,000 customers in Knoxville and parts of seven surrounding counties. Join KUB as a Utility Service Coordinator-your work will directly shape how homes, businesses, and communities grow in our region. In this dynamic, customer-facing role, you'll serve as the primary point of contact for commercial and residential land developers and builders and act as a liaison between external customers or agencies and KUB personnel. You'll communicate with customers daily to understand their needs, advise on utility solutions, and coordinate multiple projects from start to finish.

What You'll Do: Act as the primary point of contact for commercial and residential land developers and builders. Prepare/review designs, economic analysis, cost estimates, and service agreements.

Coordinate with developers, contractors, engineers, inspectors, internal KUB teams, and external agencies to ensure smooth project delivery. Manage multiple land development and utility installation projects simultaneously. Advise customers on land development and/or utility service policies, utility fees, easements, agreements, and other KUB programs.

Stay up to date on all KUB regulations, utility extension policies, customer-service policies, safety standards, and procedures. Participate in occasional after-hours storm restoration efforts. Qualifications Physical Requirements: Requires the ability to operate and to get in and out of a vehicle many times a day.

Requires the ability to move freely throughout the office to review maps, drawings, and design layouts while meeting with internal and external customers. Requires the ability to move freely about customers' properties over all types of terrain. Requires the ability to work under pressure and tight time constraints while addressing numerous customer issues related to providing new utility service.

Requires the ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent Fundamental understanding of electric, gas, water, and/or wastewater systems Strong written and oral communication and customer service skills Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks Computer skills, including knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite Valid driver's license Please note that due to job responsibilities, KUB does not provide immigration sponsorship for and/or based on this position.
