This position description identifies the major responsibilities of this job. It does not include all aspects of the position such as the potential additional duties assigned by supervisors and the requirement for flexibility in helping others for the company's overall benefit.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Project Manager has the primary responsibility of coordinating the design specifications between equipment suppliers and our customers in accordance with the defined project outlines.  The Project Manager will manage assigned projects across North America from the sales handover to site acceptance test (SAT). The position would focus on the projects that our bakery sales team earns as well as projects earned in LATAM across all of our business lines. This position operates during normal business hours of 8:00am to 5:00pm, with flexibility as needed to support customer and operational requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Attend, schedule, and support weekly project meetings with Pattyn in Belgium (HQ) and other OEM Vendors.
  • Attend, schedule, and support project meetings with customers for concerns/questions as needed.
  • Administrate all project specification between quotations, order confirmations, purchase orders in cooperation with the Project Administrators, and Project Managers in Belgium/France.
  • Coordinate technical specifications for the complete project.
  • Create equipment layout drawings (ACAD) and update as required.
  • Identify any special line specific features not available from current vendors, and if applicable execute change orders.
  • Cross reference and validate equipment deliveries with purchase orders.
  • Define equipment utility requirements for all projects.
  • Support of in-house equipment set-up for FAT and testing.
  • Generate functional specification descriptions of equipment as required.
  • Define line layouts with sensor positions and descriptions.
  • Evaluation/Selection of OEM equipment suppliers.
  • Evaluate consumables and generate consumables reports.
  • Support, plan, and maintain project installations, startups, and SATs with customers.
  • Occasional travel to lead kick off meetings, support vendor FATs, or support customer startups.
  • Ensure project documentation is completed and delivered to customers.
  • Lead and facilitate problem solving efforts when issues occur within the project scope.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience: Experience in packaging/automation fields. Experience in client-facing communications. 
  • Education: Industrial/electrical engineering degree or similar technology management degree.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong computer skills, proficient in MS Word, Excel, with the ability to learn customized programs quickly.
    • Experienced and fluent in 2D ACAD
  • Language: Bilingual -fluency in English and Spanish is required.
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time, balancing and prioritizing urgent tasks as needed.
  • Ability to maintain financial and other records with an attention to detail, providing needed information as requested.
  • Ability to travel to Europe and across North America as required.
  • Occasional travel to Europe HQ for training and FATs
    • Normal travel up to 25%
