Job description

Job Title: Project Manager III - Electric Capital Projects

Job Description

This position involves managing electric capital projects aimed at improving system reliability, increasing capacity, and reducing wildfire risk. The role includes overseeing transmission, distribution, substation upgrades, large customer loads, and LGIA projects.

Responsibilities

  • Manage project scope, schedule, and budget for projects or portfolios of moderate risk and financial impact.
  • Coordinate with multiple agencies, private partners, and stakeholders to secure stakeholder alignment.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to define project timelines, methods, and resource allocation.
  • Develop statements of work, bid documents, and cost estimates.
  • Ensure delivery of project scope, cost, schedule, and quality targets through full project lifecycle.
  • Drive project plans, milestones, communication, team direction, and change management.
  • Prepare project documentation, status reports, and budgets.

Essential Skills

  • 6-8+ years of Construction Project Management experience.
  • 3-5+ years of electric utility experience in transmission, distribution, substations, generation, or related utility operations.
  • Strong communication, leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in overseeing project scope, schedule, budget, risk, and quality.
  • Experience coordinating with internal stakeholders, contractors, consultants, permitting agencies, and regulatory organizations.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies, project controls, and change management practices.
  • Proficiency with project management software such as Primavera P6 and SAP.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with transmission line projects, distribution system upgrades, substation construction and modernization.
  • Knowledge of utility permitting, environmental compliance, and regulatory processes.
  • Familiarity with utility asset management and reliability improvement programs.

Work Environment

This is a hybrid position based at the Bothell site, with 50% on-site work and 50% remote. There is minor travel to different project sites for meetings. The role offers a 24-month contract with potential for conversion, PTO (5 days), and holiday pay (12 holidays).

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $70.00/hr.
