Underground Utility Project Manager โ€“ Lead Industrial Utility and Heavy Civil Infrastructure Builds

Job Overview

The Opportunity You will serve as a high-impact leader driving the execution of complex design-build and underground utility projects for mission-critical facilities. How You Will Make an Impact

  • Direct all phases of construction projects from inception to completion to ensure strict adherence to industrial quality standards.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and delegate responsibilities to maintain critical project milestones and budget integrity.
  • Evaluate construction documents and technical specifications to resolve real-time logistical issues and prevent project delays.
  • Communicate project status and strategic adjustments to executive leadership to keep developments aligned with corporate goals.
  • Analyze project financing and resource allocation to adjust schedules and targets as operational needs evolve.
  • Execute comprehensive quality-control protocols throughout the project lifecycle to protect margins and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of 5-10 years of commercial construction experience with a proven track record in a lead capacity.
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field required; equivalent field experience considered
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing heavy civil or underground utility projects within industrial environments.
  • Advanced proficiency in interpreting complex construction drawings, contracts, and general conditions.
  • Ability to work onsite in Sterling, VA, with a willingness to travel for project assignments as needed.
  • Familiarity with construction accounting systems (Spectrum, Viewpoint, Foundation, or similar)
  • Exceptional time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize numerous high-stakes projects simultaneously.
  • Valid driverโ€™s license and ability to travel regularly to project sites

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a meaningful advantage given the field crew composition
  • 10 years of experience managing large-scale industrial utility infrastructure builds.
  • Advanced knowledge of industry-specific regulations and mission-critical facility requirements.
  • Experience in preparing and processing subcontractor pay applications and owner billings
  • OSHA 10 Construction certification; OSHA 30 preferred
