Job description

Utility Operator: Looking for Utility Operators to work in Metro and Rural Minnesota as well as outlying areas. Preferred Experience (but not required) in operating larger vehicles that contain robotic equipment that require a Class B drivers license. Please apply even if knowledge based requirements are not fully met. Looking for future team members to have a positive attitude and a self-starter mentality and enjoy working outside in the Minnesota's four seasons. (employees are not required to work within extreme weather conditions ie: extreme cold) Being a successful utility operator/ team member on one of our crews is dependent on the proper managing and maintenance of the equipment which utilizes a variety of skills such as being mechanically inclined,  familiarity and cognitive operation of computers, proficiency in the ability to read and write and the ability to communicate clearly. Because of the specialized nature of our work we do much of our training in house. Please note this position is located in Mankato, MN about 1 hour south west of the Twin Cities metro area.  This is the perfect opportunity for someone who is interested in living in a little bit smaller community and still be able to make good wages and still have most of the amenities available to them as in a larger metro area.

Requirements:

Preferred requirements: 

  • Commercial Drivers License a minimum of a Class B
  • Basic Computer Skills
  • Mechanically inclined

Physical Requirements:  To be able to lift 50-75lbs on a regular basis, and to cope with several variations of weather that come from the four seasons of Minnesota and four state area

Hours: 

  • Generally 40 hr weeks or more
  • Start time ranges depending on the location of the worksite.  
  • Generally start no earlier than 6:00 am and no later than 8:00 am.  
  • Requirements of the job will require the need to work after hours from time to time 
  • Generally do not work weekends.
  • Job will require staying overnight in a hotel or motel accommodations approx. 25% of the time
