Associated Electric Cooperative Inc. (AECI) is currently accepting applications for our General Utility Applicant Pool at the New Madrid Power Plant. This position offers a strong opportunity for individuals looking to build a career and grow within the Operations Department of a power generation facility.

About the Role

Under the direct supervision of Management and/or a Control Room Operator, the General Utility will perform essential and physically demanding tasks to support plant operations, including:

  • Filling coal bunkers
  • Lubricating conveyor systems
  • Maintaining the dust collection system
  • Performing general housekeeping duties in the bunker room
  • Making periodic equipment inspections to ensure proper operation and lubrication

This position involves working in confined spaces, at high elevations, and in a variety of weather and environmental conditions. The role requires a commitment to safety, teamwork, and continuous learning.

Schedule & Work Conditions

  • 12-hour rotating shift
  • Includes nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be willing and able to work overtime as needed

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum one year of mechanical or electrical experience
