Position Summary:

Performs general labor duties as needed to maintain a clean and safe work environment. Provides temporary assistance for miscellaneous production duties as needed for a variety of departments.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintains a clean, neat and safe work area, including disposal of packaging and cartons, sweeping, storage of extra material and clean up of supplies.

  • Serves as a backup for positions within the production department and as temporary help in a variety of departments.

  • Maintains the facility to meet USDA and other food safety standards.

  • Sweeps, mops, scrubs and vacuums; may include hallways, stairs and office space within the facility.

  • Empties trash and garbage containers and cleans debris from walkways.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • Ability to follow directions, standard procedures and respond to instructions

  • Ability to solve routine problems of limited scope and complexity following established policies and procedures.

  • Employees in all warehouse positions must be able to immediately perceive auditory warning signals such as bells, alarms, and horns that are used to warn employees of the start-up, movement, or approach of equipment (including forklifts, turrets, overhead cranes, conveyors, trucks, and other equipment operated inside or outside the warehouse), mechanical abnormalities, and similar risk situations during warehouse operations.

  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment

  • Ability to operate powered industrial vehicle (PIV), vacuum cleaner, and other various types of equipment.
