Job description

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintains liaison with and serves in a consultative capacity between the Department, federal agencies, utility companies, other entities and title companies
  • Develops, maintains and updates utility relocation schedules
  • Assists with the management of SUE/UC projects, budgets, schedules and submittals,
  • Participates with marketing SUE/EC services both internally and externally
  • Prepares proposals
  • Develops, implements and interprets Department policies and procedures as they relate to utility adjustments, relocations, negotiations, reimbursements and compliance with applicable state and federal laws
  • Measures, coordinates and calculates payments such as betterment ratios, eligibility percentages, supplements, market value comparisons and relocation costs
  • Meets with utility representatives and other entities to explain the utility accommodation policy and relocation and reimbursement processes, negotiate, answer questions and to resolve problems
  • Monitors the installation/removal, adjustment or relocation of utilities
  • Oversees current projects for progress and pending projects for planning purposes; consults and advises personnel in policies and procedures
  • Prepares, processes and maintains documents, references and/or resource materials
  • Reviews agreements, plans, specifications and billings submitted by the utility companies
  • Develops and maintains client relationships
  • Performs other job responsibilities as assigned

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
  • Current EIT - Passed Fundamentals Exam (FE)
  • Minimum of 2 years of utility coordination experience
  • Knowledge of utility coordination process
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microstation V8i
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to details
