The Utility Specialist here at Csquare provides analytical support to the Utility Manager, enabling effective and reliable operational support of all utility services across the data‑center colocation facilities and third-party bill partner. The Utility Specialist collects, processes, and interprets utility data, supports funding, exception reporting, and supports compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, support the Csquare utility department, utility providers, and site teams.


Summary/Objective

Seeking a detail-oriented and organized Utility Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end processing of all utility invoices, ensuring accurate and timely processing while maintaining complete and compliant financial records.

This position plays a critical role in our operational efficiency, as you will serve as a point of contact for utility vendors, monitor spending patterns, and help identify opportunities for cost optimization. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of accounts payable processes, and the ability to manage multiple accounts with varying billing cycles.

You will work closely with the finance team, facilities management, and external vendors to ensure all utility expenses are properly recorded, approved, and paid in accordance with company policies. If you take pride in accuracy and process excellence, we'd love to hear from you.


Essential Functions

  • Support the procurement, management, and monitoring of electricity, water, gas, and other utility services.
  • Communicate with utility vendors to resolve billing issues and negotiate payment terms
  • Learn and support Utility Portals with data gathering.
  • Lead the management of Overseas utility providers and billing.
  • Analyze and support the managing of utility consumption and costs, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
  • Serve as the additional point of contact with utility providers and negotiate contracts to ensure optimal service and pricing.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, including operations, engineering, finance, accounting, and sustainability, to align utility management with broader business goals.
  • Support the development contingency plans for utility service interruptions.
  • Support and lead, when necessary, 3rd party billing partners by understanding the exception and funding process
  • Work to establish reporting and data dashboards to better manage and report.
  • Teamwork collaboration and support Utility KPI

Competency

  • College education (BA/BS) or equivalent experience
  • Two years of utility management experience
  • Intermediate Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint competency
