Job description

Enva is a leading provider of recycling and resource recovery solutions, helping businesses and communities across the UK manage their waste responsibly. Our Recycling England division is looking for a flexible, experienced, and safety-conscious Utility Driver to join our Transport team in Nottingham.
As a Utility Driver at Enva, you'll play a vital role across our collections operation. You'll be trained to operate a wide range of vehicles including REL, FEL, Skip, RoRo, Tippers and Grab, covering different rounds and schedules on a day-to-day basis. This is a varied, hands-on role that supports service continuity across the business.
  • Operate a variety of LGV vehicles safely and efficiently, adapting to changing daily schedules.
  • Complete daily pre-start vehicle inspections and report defects, breakdowns, accidents, or incidents promptly.
  • Ensure full compliance with road transport legislation, company procedures, and health & safety requirements.
  • Inspect waste and complete waste transfer documentation in line with Duty of Care regulations.
  • Ensure loads are secure for transport and skips are correctly permitted, lit, and coned when placed on the highway.
  • Maintain cleanliness and presentation of the driving cab and vehicle.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and act professionally at all times.
  • Participate in end-of-shift driver debriefs, highlighting safety issues, defects, and route or service improvements.
  • Promote a positive health and safety culture and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Essential:
  • LGV (Class 2) licence.
  • Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).
  • Strong understanding of HGV operation and vehicle safety.
  • Health & safety and compliance-focused mindset.
  • Ability to work independently, use initiative, and adapt to changing workloads.
Desirable:
  • Previous experience operating waste collection vehicles (REL, FEL, Skip, RoRo, Tippers or Grab).
  • Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge.
  • Strong communication skills and customer-focused approach.
