Job Summary:

As the Construction Manager I, II, III, you will ultimately be responsible for managing construction crews, coordinating field operations, and ensuring telecommunications construction projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with company and customer requirements. You will oversee project execution, workforce performance, scheduling, material coordination, and customer communication while delivering quality construction services. As the Construction Manager, your customers are Congruex project teams, field crews, customers, and subcontractors, and you will make meaningful contributions to the company's success through operational excellence, leadership, and successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):

  • Manage and oversee construction crews, subcontractors, and field operations to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget
  • Coordinate project schedules, material procurement, customer communication, workforce planning, and daily construction activities with Project Managers and internal support teams
  • Monitor project progress, production, budgets, quality standards, milestone completion, and project documentation, including production reports, as-builts, and closeout packages
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate Foremen and field personnel while supporting employee development, performance management, and hiring activities
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, customer requirements, safety regulations, and local, state, and federal construction standards
  • Review and approve timesheets, invoices, project documentation, and job-related reporting while identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency
  • Additional responsibilities within functional scope based on business needs

Required Qualifications:

Education, Licensing, and Certifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record

Experience

  • Experience managing telecommunications, utility, or civil construction projects
  • Experience supervising construction crews and coordinating field operations
  • Experience with aerial and underground construction methods

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and team management skills
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and project documentation
  • Strong knowledge of project scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, production tracking, and quality control
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word, scheduling software, and HCSS HeavyBid or similar construction management software
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and customer relationship management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced construction environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • OSHA 30 Certification
  • CPR/First Aid Certification
  • Previous experience managing broadband, fiber optic, telecommunications, or utility infrastructure projects
  • Experience with project financial management, estimating, and construction scheduling

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, climb, push, pull, twist, and work in physically demanding positions for extended periods
  • Work performed indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, around heavy equipment, machinery, and active construction sites
  • Ability to safely wear required personal protective equipment, including safety boots, safety glasses, hard hat, and other required PPE
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check, drug screen, and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) review
