Job description

Overview

Project Manager II T&D - Remote - Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, or Florida

We have an opportunity for a talented & ambitious Project Manager with Transmission & Distribution (T&D) and/or power utilities experience to join our growing Overhead (OH) Transmission Group.

As our Project Manager you will contribute to oversight of the planning, design, and construction of projects within the Overhead Transmission Group including Substations. You will work with team to secure, manage, and deliver projects from new and existing clients.

The need for resiliency to withstand harsher weather while meeting increasing demands for power and power delivery are challenges, we face every day.  Navigating through permitting and regulation has increased design complexity and time to design and build desperately needed new and revitalized transmission assets. 

By harnessing our expertise and providing cutting-edge solutions, NV5 steps in as a leader, to enhance transmission system capacity, fortify against fire and storm risks, and elevate the reliability of electrical service for utility customers. We use in-house talent, expertise and resources to plan design, engineer, manage, and conduct inspections on construction projects.

NV5's integrated service capabilities deliver efficiency, consistency, attention to detail, and safe project execution. Our multidisciplinary team brings together expertise in engineering, safety, quality, procurement, QA/QC, right-of-way, scheduling, environmental planning, permitting, and land management to achieve successful outcomes for our clients.

Responsibilities

Other responsibilities include:

  • Manage scope, schedule, and budget of individual projects
  • Work with matrixed team to provide tasks and deliverables on time
  • Provides clear direction of next steps when needed to project stakeholders
  • Monitor KPI's, critical path, issues management, change management,
  • Provide analysis, budget forecasts, and metrics for individual projects
  • Primary point of contact for internal/external project stakeholders
  • Manage construction, procurement, invoice preparation, and project documentation
  • Continuously build and maintain a network of third-party consultants and vendors
  • Lead project acquisition efforts including identifying opportunities and working collaboratively with Marketing team in preparing bids and interviews for jobs
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of client and industry standards related to design and construction
  • Demonstrate abilities to negotiate solutions to client concerns or project overages
Qualifications

We are seeking the following experience & qualifications:

  • B.S. Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Science, or relevant technical field, or equivalent training and experience
  • 7+ years of Project Management experience related to Transmission & Distribution (T&D), Substation or other Utilities project experience.
  • Experience in public utility design and construction
  • Strong skills in MS Office, Primavera 6, SmartSheet or related software
  • PMP Certification is a plus

The salary range for this position is $125,000 to $145,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. Additional compensation will include performance-based bonuses, and a comprehensive benefits package covering medical, dental, PTO, 401(k), unlimited FTO (Flexible Time Off) and professional development opportunities.
