Job Description
The primary duties of this position are to maintain a vigorous, creative, externally funded research program, teach physiology to medical, dental, and graduate students, and provide service to the university and communities. Responsibilities
The primary duties of this position are to perform cutting-edge research in the cardiovascular and renal field field, secure national funding, and teach physiology to medical, dental and graduate students.
The Department of Physiology at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) (https://www.uthsc.edu/physiology/) invites applications from and nominations of nationally-recognized individuals for a new tenure-track Associate Professor faculty position to build on its strengths in molecular and translational physiology research. The Department of Physiology at UTHSC was recently ranked in the top ten of all Physiology Departments in North America for total research funding. We seek candidates with an interest and demonstrated achievement in cardiovascular and renal research. We are particularly interested in candidates with an active research program that complements existing departmental strengths in cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, ion channel physiology, and mitochondrial biology. The primary duties of this position are to maintain a vigorous, creative, externally funded research program, teach physiology to medical, dental, and graduate students, and provide service to the university and communities. Qualifications
Applicants must have a PhD, MD, or equivalent degree. The qualified candidates should have an excellent record of research accomplishments and national funding.
