They are responsible for administering anesthesia to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures, ensuring patients remain safe and comfortable. In addition to monitoring vital signs throughout surgery, anesthesiologists also help manage pain and support patients with serious health conditions in intensive care units. Their expertise is crucial for safe and effective surgical outcomes.

Strong communication skills and the ability to make rapid, well-informed decisions are essential for ensuring patient safety throughout the procedure. Ongoing training and simulation exercises also help anesthesiologists stay prepared for rare but critical events.
