Job description

BASIC FUNCTIONS

Quality Engineer will provide support to the Sr. Director of Quality Compliance in maintaining a strong overall Quality Compliance Program including the Quality Management System. The core focus shall be technical reviews implemented and established for each Department. This individual has the responsibility and authority to carry out all assigned tasks.

SPECIFIC DUTIES

  • Ensures customers’ technical requirements are met by reviewing process procedures, test procedures, and supplier / Internal quality manuals to understand the scope and testing requirements
  • Ensures products meet the organizations and customers quality and product integrity requirements.
  • Supports process development or operations team by providing analysis and expertise throughout the inspection & testing process.
  • Counsel and advise Sales personnel on technical developments or nonconformances (drawings, capabilities, etc.)
  • Advise Sales and Operations leadership on capability/capacity for certain types of orders, products, etc.
  • Enforce CTG Quality Planning including product sampling.
  • Support RFP/RFQ/Contract reviews – quality and technical review
  • Conduct routine Material Review Board & Counterfeit Review Board actions and provide resolution/disposition
  • Responsible for reviewing and submitting CTG requests for designated Airworthiness Rep 8130’s
  • Maintain and retain a working list of qualified ASA-100/FAA AC 00-56 trained Inspectors/Technicians.
  • Oversight of the DQR (Designated Quality Representative) program for Sikorski, Lockheed, GDLS, and UTC. Utilizing First Article / First Piece development per AS9102
  • Conduct sampling reviews of contract to shipped product(s), such audits shall be documented
  • Ensuring equipment Preventative Maintenance and Calibration requirements are established and followed.
  • Develop and implement HAZMAT protocols including handling and disposition
  • Identifies root causes of problems in the inspection process; recommends and/or implements corrective measures.
  • Champions Lean-Six Sigma methodologies within the organization; responsible for organizations’ 5S program and identifies and leads projects focused on reducing waste and increasing quality
  • Ensure Return Material Authorization process is reviewed and documented, authorize approval as required per process.
  • Identify requirements for product(s) reviewed at CTG for potential Reach/RoHS specifics
  • Manage and Enforce ESD S20.20 requirements within critical zones.
  • Review all Return to Vendor items for adequacy prior to material leaving facility, process all requirements within EPDS.
  • Disposition all discrepant material, determine (based on RMA/RTV) scrap rates, rework rates and return to stock.
  • Serve as backup to Senior Director of Quality Compliance for conditional quality plan approvals and conditional supply-chain activation approvals.
  • Collect and Analyze quality information for the development of quality strategies and continuous improvement plans
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

STANDARD REQUIREMENTS

Comply with all requirements of International Standard ISO9001 and ISO27001, NIST 800-171, CMMC – Cyber Security and Informational Data Security Requirements. Aerospace Management System Standards AS9100, AS9120, IDEA-QMS-9090, ASA-100 and supporting construct standards AS6081, IDEA-STD-1010, AC7402-CAAP, CCAP-101, FAA AC00-56, ANSI/ESD S20.20. All employees shall commit and comply with the requirements of AS5553 for Counterfeit Electrical, Electronic and Electromechanical (EEE) Parts – Avoidance, Detection, Mitigation and Disposition practices.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / COMPENTENCY

Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or related discipline required.

  • Certified Quality Engineer or equivalent
  • ESD Program Manager preferred
  • Approximately 0-4 years of experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to serve as a liaison with developers, project managers, and customer support.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Lean Six-Sigma Training/Certification
  • Operational experience within QMS in Aerospace, Medical or other highly regulated industry
