Job Summary 
The Postal Clerk I support daily postaloperations within the USPS Contract Station by providing customer service andprocessing postal transactions using a point-of-sale (POS) system, includingthe sale of stamps, processing of money orders, and distribution of packages.The position is responsible for sorting and delivering campus mail todepartmental and student mailboxes throughout the day, as well as performingall duties associated with the contract window, including scanning packages,preparing daily deposits, and maintaining accurate records. This role ensuresaccountability, accuracy, and compliance with USPS and University standardswhile performing related duties as assigned to support efficient mailoperations.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities  

  1. Accepts and sorts incoming and outgoing mail.
  2. Sells postage stamps and money orders at the contract window and completes daily USPS reports and deposits.
  3. Applies postage and charges outgoing mail to university departments.
  4. Manages student post office box rentals and closures each semester.
  5. Assists with USPS audits, returns, and inventory ordering.
  6. Provides customer service to faculty, staff, students, and community members regarding mail and package pickup.
