Job description

MBA Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced Facility Condition Assessment Inspectorย to manage the development of USPS facilities' deferred maintenance backlog of the Capital, Repair and Alterations projects. This role involves conducting detailed building inspections, estimating repair costs, and ensuring the accuracy of facility condition data. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable with extensive travel within the assigned region.
This position requires up to 75% travel to different US Postal Serviceย Facilitiesย locatedย in Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Missouri.ย When not traveling, the work location is 660 Data Drive, Plano, TX 75075.
Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a facility inspection schedule that aligns with USPS Facility Services Organization (FSO) objectives.
  • Experience inspecting HVAC and Electrical Systems
  • Prepare for inspections by gathering necessary data and coordinating logistics.
  • Conduct comprehensive building inspections following USPS-provided standards.
  • Calculate Current Replacement Values (CRV) for facilities.
  • Create Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) cost estimates to address identified deficiencies.
  • Compile, validate, and update Facility Condition Index (FCI) data.
  • Upload inspection reports and supporting documentation, including photographs, into the USPS Infrastructure Condition Assessment Module (ICAM).
  • Perform QA/QC reviews of self-assessments conducted by Plant and Small Facility teams.
  • Travel to USPS facilities within the assigned region to conduct on-site inspections.
  • Maintain the credibility of the FSO deferred maintenance backlog and support the development of a five-year plan for Repair & Alteration (R&A) and Capital projects.
  • Identify and document facility issues not addressed by routine maintenance, especially those posing life safety risks or causing significant deterioration.
  • Apply inspection procedures with discretion, including estimating material and labor costs and adhering to USPS standards.
  • Complete 200 facility inspections per year

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a related role
  • Proficiency using MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Ability to travel 75% and work flexible hours
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug test
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
