Job Description:
The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is seeking an experienced Full-Stack Java Developer to support Project Development and Maintenance programs. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience building enterprise Java applications using Spring technologies, Oracle databases, and modern front-end frameworks while working in an Agile environment. The role involves developing, testing, deploying, and modernizing mission-critical applications, collaborating with UI/UX teams, and enhancing legacy systems with scalable and responsive solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy enterprise Java applications using Java 8 and Spring technologies
  • Build and maintain full-stack applications utilizing Spring Boot, Spring Data, JPA/Hibernate, and Oracle databases
  • Develop responsive user interfaces using HTML5, CSS, Bootstrap, jQuery, and modern front-end technologies
  • Collaborate with project managers, application owners, and Agile team members to deliver project objectives
  • Work closely with UI/UX teams to implement intuitive and responsive user experiences
  • Support modernization and enhancement of legacy applications and systems
  • Develop and optimize SQL and PL/SQL queries for Oracle databases
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives
  • Perform unit testing, debugging, troubleshooting, and code reviews to ensure application quality
  • Assist with deployment activities and production support for enterprise applications

  • 5+ years of experience working in Agile development environments
  • 5+ years of experience developing user interfaces with JavaScript frameworks and CSS

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience with Java 8
  • 4+ years of experience with jQuery and jQuery UI
  • 4+ years of experience with Oracle 12c or Oracle 19c

Preferred Skills:

  • 4+ years of experience with React.js
