Job description

Position Overview:

Randall Children’s Hospital at Legacy Emanuel in Portland, OR, seeks a full-time, board-eligible or board-certified pediatric orthopedic surgeon.

Practice & Team Environment:

Candidates would join an established team that includes 3 pediatric orthopedic surgeons and 4 physician associates. This position would include operating, covering call, and providing clinic care at Randall Children’s Hospital, with additional clinic duties at our satellite clinic at Legacy Salmon Creek Hospital in Vancouver, WA.  Our program offers a full range of inpatient and outpatient services in the Portland/Vancouver area. An interest in pediatric sports surgery is preferred but not required.

Compensation & Benefits:

Legacy offers competitive compensation with a production-based bonus structure and a generous benefits package, including a hire-on bonus, medical, dental, and vision coverage, CME allowance, malpractice coverage, retirement plans, and relocation bonus.

Pay Range:

Production Plan, 2-year salary guarantee, $517,523 - $582,214.


  • Provides a full range of orthopedic care, to include general orthopedics and pediatric orthopedics, to patients of Legacy Health System. Such care is provided in an office, outpatient, or inpatient setting and includes the full and expected mix of patient problems and surgical approaches.
  • Provides “non-trauma” coverage on an “on-call” capacity for Emanuel Hospital.
  • Provides office follow up of orthopedic patients.
  • Participates in the education program for OHSU orthopedic surgery residents.
  • Participates in the Legacy Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement programs as appropriate for clinical practice.
  • Completes medical records, coding and billing schedules and forms, and other needed paperwork in a timely fashion.
  • Participates in Legacy research activities as appropriate.
  • Works with infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and elderly/geriatric patients.

Education:

  • Graduate of four-year U.S. Medical School or equivalent.
  • Completion of ACGME accredited residency in orthopedic surgery.
  • Fellowship in pediatric orthopedic surgery required.

Experience:

  • Preferred candidates have a strong clinical background, a great work ethic, and an interest in expanding our pediatric orthopedic practice, quality improvement, and education.

  • Medical License for the applicable state.
  • Membership on LPH Medical Staff.
  • Board Eligible/Certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery.
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association
  • ATLS required for trauma privileges.
